📜 The Cause of All Mankind: A Celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence

ABOUT THE CELEBRATION

The University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO) will commemorate a defining moment in American and world history with “The Cause of All Mankind: A Celebration of the 250th Anniversary of the Declaration of Independence,” a campuswide series that invites students, faculty, staff, and the broader Omaha community to reflect on the enduring meaning of 1776.

Co-hosted by UNO’s Department of Political Science and Department of History, the celebration examines the Declaration of Independence not simply as a historic document, but as a living statement of principles that continue to shape American civic life. Through a lecture, workshop, and public discussion, the celebration invites the community to reflect seriously on the ideals that launched the American experiment and to consider how those ideals continue to challenge and inspire us today.
