All About Wear Black, Give Back (WBGB)

Noon on Tuesday, October 8 through noon on Wednesday, October 9.

Wear Black, Give Back (WBGB), UNO’s annual day of giving, is a 24-hour period to raise needed resources for scholarships, colleges and programs, student groups and activities, inclusion and wellness, athletics and much more.  Wear Black, Give Back 2024 officially kicks off at noon on Tuesday, Oct. 8, and will last through noon on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Every gift of $5 or more will be counted toward this year’s goal of 5,000 gifts. All donors of $75 or more will receive a complimentary UNO knit stocking cap. 

During Wear Black, Give Back, alumni, faculty, staff, students and supporters of UNO are encouraged to wear black UNO apparel, post to social media using #WearBlackGiveBack, and give back with a gift to UNO, its students and its programs, at givingday.unomaha.edu. BONUS: Enjoy 15% off all apparel while supplies last October 7 - 9 at The Maverick Store or online. Mini Durango Student Scavenger Hunt

The Mini Durango Scavenger Hunt is on! Ten Durango plush dolls will be hidden around our campuses on Tuesday, Oct. 8, for UNO students to discover. Those who find one get to keep the Durango and decide which UNO cause will receive the gift amount on the Durango’s tag. Follow @the_uno_fund on Instagram for updates and clues!

WBGB Festival at the Campanile

Tuesday, October 8 from 11:30 A.M. to 2 P.M.

Celebrate the day of giving with food, games, and more around Henningson Memorial Campanile from 11:30 A.M. to 2 P.M. on Oct. 8. Stop by for treats and refreshments, enjoy music by a live DJ, play games, take a photo with Durango, meet participating student organizations, and learn more about Wear Black, Give Back!

Kickoff Livestream Show by UNO TV

Tuesday, October 8 from 11:30 A.M. to 12:15 P.M.

Tune in at givingday.unomaha.edu to watch the WBGB Kickoff show, broadcasting live from UNO TV! This program is produced exclusively by UNO students and staff, and will feature special guests, challenge prize announcements, and original features about the many UNO causes you can support during Wear Black, Give Back.

Employee Appreciation Coffee

Wednesday, October 9 starting at 9 A.M.

Enjoy some free complimentary caffeine courtesy of Wear Black, Give Back. Starting at 9 A.M. visit Starbucks in Criss Library or Seattle’s Best in the Maverick Den to receive a voucher for a free coffee and learn how you can support Wear Black, Give Back. Available while supplies last. Then, from 11 A.M. to noon, join us at Stedman’s Café in Mammel Hall for late morning pick-me-up as we close out the final hours with a complementary special WBGB menu, courtesy of UNO’s own student-run coffee shop!
