About this Event
Thank a Maverick supporter during UNO Gratitude Day on April 3!
Note: This event is primarily designed for students, but all on campus are welcome to participate.
We hope you’ll help us spread the good feelings during the first-ever UNO Gratitude Day on April 3. This day is a partnership between the UNO Alumni Association, the University of Nebraska Foundation, and Durango’s Advancement and Support Hub (DASH). However you are feeling grateful for your experiences at UNO – let your voice be heard, and fill your heart with the happiness that comes from expressing gratitude during UNO Gratitude Day!
Show Your Support by:
Write a Thank You Card or Record a Thank You Video Message
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at three locations across campus you can join us to help write a thank you note or record a thank you video message. These messages will be sent to people who have donated to UNO to support student scholarships, emergency assistance, college programs, student organizations, wellness programs, and more!
Locations
At each location, UNO students will learn about gratitude and how to craft a meaningful thank you message. Then, you’ll put these new skills to practice with a thank you card or video message. Write a poem, draw a picture, do an interpretive dance – whatever helps you express your thanks! Additionally, as our thanks to you, we’ll be giving away UNO swag items, cookies, refreshments, and more.
DASH Presents: Gratitude Talk by Morgan Holen and Wall of Gratitude
Durango’s Advancement and Support Hub (DASH) will also participate in UNO Gratitude Day, hosting a speaker to teach about gratitude and motivate our messages of thanks. Hear from Morgan Holen, Director of Women Investing in Nebraska, in the Community Engagement Center (CEC) at 10 A.M.
You will also be able to learn about volunteer opportunities through this office, which can further help you pay forward your gratitude. Additionally, students can contribute to the Wall of Gratitude inside of DASH’s Milo Bail location by placing a gratitude sign on the window display.
Volunteer Opportunities and Philanthropy at UNO
Last year, more than 8,400 individuals made a monetary gift to UNO to help keep your costs down and make the college experience better for our students. Many of your classmates and colleagues will walk across the graduation stage one day because of this generosity from UNO’s donors – via scholarships, mentoring, support services, textbook and educational resources access, and more.
