Thanksgiving Vacation (student and staff vacation) is November 23-26. The University is closed during that time.


Note: No classes/student holiday on November 22. UNO offices will be open that day.



Nov. 22: Mavericks Open The RiverFront - Heartland of America Park and Skate Ribbon

Join members of the Omaha Mavericks Hockey Team, Durango, Dance, Cheer, and Maverick Maniacs as we support The RiverFront Parks and open their ice-skating rink on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 6:30 P.M.! There will be food trucks, yard games, free cowbells, ticket vouchers, and photos with UNO Spirit groups!


Nov. 24-26: Campus Recreation and Wellness: Free Kids Weekend Over Thanksgiving

UNO Campus Recreation and Wellness is excited to invite all UNO Students, Faculty/ Staff, and Members to bring their kids 17 and under to use the Wellness Center over the Thanksgiving weekend for free. UNO online students and Faculty and Staff without memberships will need to pay a $10 guest pass in order for their kids to enter for free.


We have a variety of open recreation opportunities including basketball, volleyball, badminton, pickleball, indoor soccer, ping pong, a pool, and  our rock wall. Weight rooms are available to those 16 years and older. Parents must remain with their children in the facility at all times. The rock wall will have free shoe rental for children during these days.


Thanksgiving Hours at the Wellness Center

  • Friday (Nov. 24) : 10 A.M. to 6 P.M.
  • Saturday (Nov 25): 10 A.M. to 6 P.M.
  • Sunday (Nov. 26): 10 A.M. to 10 P.M.

Thanksgiving Hours at the Pool

  • Friday (Nov. 24) : 11 A.M. to 1 P.M., and 4 to 6 P.M.
  • Saturday (Nov. 25): 1 to 5 P.M.
  • Sunday (Nov. 26): 1 to 7 P.M.

Thanksgiving Hours at the Wall

  • Friday, (Nov. 24): Noon to 5 P.M.
  • Saturday (Nov. 25 ): Noon to 5 P.M.
  • Sunday (Nov. 25): Noon to 7 P.M.



Parking During Thankgiving Vacation

From Wednesday, November 22 through Sunday, November 26, all general use surface lots and garages on campus will observe open parking. Regular parking enforcement will resume on Monday, November 27.  

Please note that certain areas on campus are excluded from open parking, such as pay-to-park areas (Lots A, C, and the seven spaces in M), ADA spaces (reserved for those without an ADA permit), reserved spaces, loading zones, motorcycle areas, carpool spaces, compact stalls, visitor spaces, EV charging spaces, driveways, drive aisles, and fire lanes. These areas are enforced 24/7.  


Shuttle Service During Thanksgiving Vacation

On Wednesday, November 22, campus shuttles will run with limited service from 8:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. During this time, they'll be servicing the Scott Court, Scott Crossing, and Criss Library stops only. Please note that there will be no shuttle service to the Pacific Parking Garage, Maverick/University Village, Milo Bail Student Center, H&K, PKI, and Mammel Hall stops. On Thursday, November 23, and Friday, November 24, there will be no shuttle service.  Routine shuttle service will resume on Monday, November 27.
