UNO is honored to welcome Dr. Alex Kolodkin, Neuroscience Professor, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, and elected member of the National Academy of Sciences and National Academy of Medicine, for a Scientific Talk, “Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Neural Circuit Assembly”, Neural circuit development relies on precise synaptic matching, often organized within specific layers. We identify molecular signals that control lamina-specific connectivity in the mammalian retina and neocortex and show how retinal circuits for motion detection and image stabilization are formed.
