Mavericks and Huskers Supporting Veterans

The UNO and UNL Student Veterans Organizations (SVOs) invite you to participate in “The Things They Carry” Ruck March, from Baxter Arena to Memorial Stadium, November 19-23. This event raises awareness of the mental health challenges facing veterans and the over 6,000 veteran suicides each year.

Join us in solidarity to bring attention to this critical issue

The total length of the march is nearly 60 miles and we're looking for supportive volunteers to join us as we ruck the Husker Game Ball from Baxter Arena to Memorial Stadium. The distance will be broken into nine shifts across four days with the final shift ending at Memorial Stadium during the Husker football game.

You're welcome to sign up for any shift in combination with the final shift from the UNL Union to Memorial Stadium in order to receive recognition and support from Husker fans. Transportation will be provided between locations, so you can start and stop at any location and we'll bring you back to your car!
