About the Display

In the lead up to Patriot Day, the Office of Military and Veterans Services will host the "Remembering Our Fallen" display in the Milo Bail Student Center Atrium. The display will be up from September 2 through September 10.

A very emotional memorial, "Remembering Our Fallen," is a stark reminder of the ultimate sacrifice made by Nebraskans killed in The War on Terror (Post-9/11/2001) while wearing our country’s uniform in a war zone. The photo memorial includes military and personal photos of each of Nebraska’s fallen.

Flags to be Placed in the Pep Bowl

The office will also be placing flags in the Pep Bowl for display on September 11. Each flag will represent a US service member who has lost their life in a war zone since the September 11, 2001 attacks.

9/11 StairMaster Challenge

Join Student Veterans of America and UNO Rec Well as we honor the heroes and remember the lives lost in the September 11 attacks. Participants will take 2,200 steps (or as many as they can) on the StairMaster — symbolizing the 110 floors of the Twin Towers. Learn More About the Challenge.
