Prior to joining Sidley, Webb was a Fellow at Stanford Law School’s Constitutional Law Center, Princeton University's James Madison Program in American Ideals and Institutions, a Supreme Court Fellow in the Office of the Counselor to the Chief Justice, a law clerk to the Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton in the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and an attorney advisor to the Judicial Conference Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure. He has received recognition in both the 2021 and 2022 editions of Best Lawyers of Washington, D.C. as “One to Watch” for Appellate Practice.

He has also published articles on the Supreme Court and constitutional law and history in various journals, including the Journal of Supreme Court History, Law and History Review, the American Journal of Legal History, the Journal of Legal Education, and the Encyclopedia of the Supreme Court. And he is currently at work on a book under contract with Cambridge University Press entitled “The Spirit of Amity: The Original Meaning of Civility and the Creation of the Constitution.” He received his B.A. in philosophy from Yale University, a Ph.D. in political science from the University of Notre Dame, and a J.D. from Georgetown University.
