The UNO Golden Circle is comprised of retired faculty and staff and university graduates age 65+. The group was formed at a reunion in 1984 honoring the class of 1934.

Today, members meet monthly, ten months of the year, for Golden Circle Lunch Bunches at the Thompson Alumni Center.

Join us with Lori Schwartz, Assistant Professor, UNO Archives & Special Collections, to learn about university advancements and socialize with fellow Maverick graduates and former UNO faculty and staff! Golden Circle Lunch Bunches are open to UNO alumni, retired UNO faculty and staff and guests.

Fall 2025 will be 30 years since Chuck Hagel began his campaign for his first U.S. Senate term (elected in 1996). Lori Schwartz will talk about the Hagel Archives, containing records from Chuck Hagel’s career as U.S. Senator (1997–2009) and U.S. Secretary of Defense (2013–2015), and his legislative papers, artifacts, photographs, campaign records and other materials.
