This Lunch and Learn will share some of the Great Plains Black History Museum's archival material arranged and described in recent months, including North Omaha musicians, early settlement in the Great Plains, sports, and rodeos. Learn about the collaboration between the Great Plains Black History Museum and UNO’s Criss Library that is expanding access to the Museum’s archival collection. The grant project is arranging and describing the Museum’s archives, which includes documents, photographs, records of the museum, and other material that shares the history of the Black community in Omaha, Nebraska, and more broadly in the Great Plains. 

The brown bag is free and open to the public via Zoom. Advance registration is required.   

This program is part of Access to the Archives of the Great Plains Black History Museum, a joint grant project of the Great Plains Black History Museum and Criss Library supported by the National Archives' National Historical Publications and Records Commission.
