Description: This course will be offered in a two-part series. Part One offers an essential overview of Competency-Based Education (CBE), perfect for those curious about or considering the implementation of CBE in their synchronous or asynchronous courses. Part Two offers a deeper dive into CBE covering pedagogical strategies, student buy-in and classroom management techniques, competency mapping, and the using authentic assessment to evaluate competency mastery. This series promises tangible outcomes for your course design and execution. Participants receive a $300 stipend for successfully completing all discussions and assignments. Format: This non-credit course is offered online using the Canvas LMS. This course includes two parts, each offered over a 3-week period. It is asynchronous, but not self-paced.
