Calling All Students!

You’re invited to the Employer Excellence Scholar Connection, an event designed to spark authentic connections between Omaha’s leading professionals and talented UNO students.

This event isn’t about formal interviews or structured recruiting—it’s about building genuine relationships and practicing networking in a low-risk, welcoming environment. Hosted in collaboration with the Greater Omaha Chamber, the event will feature approximately 50 employer representatives, based on past participation, offering students broad exposure to leaders across industries.

What to Expect

  • 30 minutes: A short, interactive presentation led by the Greater Omaha Chamber focused on practical networking tips and strategies.
  • 60 minutes: Informal conversations between students, alumni, and employer representatives in a relaxed, open setting.
  • The space will be arranged with high-top tables and conversation pods, and conversation starter cards will be available to help spark discussion and ease introductions.

The intent of this event is to build relationships, have meaningful conversations, and practice networking in a supportive environment. Students are encouraged to come with a curious mindset—considering questions they might like to ask leaders in their field or topics they’ve always wondered about when it comes to employers and career paths.

Whether these conversations lead to mentorship, internships, or full-time opportunities, the true goal is to cultivate meaningful connections that strengthen Omaha’s workforce community.
