DESCRIPTION:UNO Welcomes Dr. Diane Doberneck to campus.\n\n \n\nIn this key
 note address\, Doberneck will provide strategies for individual faculty mem
 bers who wish to elevate engaged scholarship and community engagement withi
 n their RPT and annual review files and how academic leaders can support th
 ese efforts. Strategies will address common barriers and misconceptions of 
 engaged scholarship and specific examples for addressing those challenges a
 t the individual and unit level. Faculty members\, administrators\, and per
 sonnel committee members are encouraged to attend.\n\n \n\nDoberneck consul
 ts with colleges and universities across the country on institutional chang
 e supportive of community engagement\; revisions to reappointment\, promoti
 on\, and tenure policies to support community engagement\; publishing commu
 nity-engaged scholarship\; graduate education\, and professional developmen
 t for community engagement. She chairs the nationally competitive Emerging 
 Engagement Scholars Workshop\, speaks regularly at the Pen to Paper Academi
 c Writing Retreat\, is currently a Campus Compact Fellow writing the introd
 uctory module for the Community Engagement Competency Program\, and has rec
 ently concluded a co-editorship of a special issue of the Journal of Higher
  Education Outreach and Engagement.\n\n \n\nLight refreshments will be serv
