ORCA is excited to share a new opportunity for UNO researchers: membership in the CPRDC Consortium. Through this partnership, UNO researchers now have access to restricted-use datasets from the U.S. Census Bureau and other federal agencies. The CPRDC provides a secure computing lab for approved projects, opening doors to groundbreaking research across disciplines. Join our virtual training series to learn more!

The virtual training is over a 4-part series (February 27 CANCELLED, March 13, March 27, April 3, and April 17) via Zoom from Central Plains Research Data Center (CPRDC) Administrators.

Session topics:

Feb. 27 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: CANCELLED

March 13 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Introduction to research and the ResearchDataGov.org (RDG) website portal. How to seek out datasets, and the template in which proposals will be entered. An assignment may be sent home to develop a sketch proposal idea.

March 27 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM:Explanation of the linking process and some examples. We will walk through the details of how to link together datasets, how to use RDG to research these linkings, and how to write up the documents needed regarding this for the proposal.

April 3 11:30 AM- 12:30 PM: Explanation of disclosure process and how these can be managed. Go through GASPs and noise injection. Give a sketch of disclosure requirements and show how to prepare the relevant section of the proposal.

April 17 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM:  A final summation of how to assemble and submit the proposal. The main objective of this session is to do a more detailed Q&A. Any draft sent 48 hours in advance can be discussed in detail.
