The Capstone Cup Finals will be held on December 5th at 9:30 AM, with 5 teams competing for the chance to win.

Each semester, seniors in the College of Business Administration take what they’ve learned in the classroom and put it to work through UNO’s Capstone Cup, the culminating project in the Corporate and Business Strategy course. Partnering with a local organization, they dive into real business challenges and deliver strategic solutions with real-world impact.

This semester’s Capstone Cup case partner is Verdis Group, an Omaha-based sustainability consultancy and Certified B Corporation that helps organizations plan and implement climate action. The company is committed to building a thriving, resilient world and is eager to see how UNO students’ strategies can support that goal.

More than 143 students (98 in person and 45 online) competed in the Round 1 Showcase on November 7, presenting their strategic recommendations to over 50 judges. Each team delivered four presentations to different panels and was evaluated on its problem statement, analyses, recommendations, implementation plan, pitch quality, and visual design. The event also provided opportunities for students to network with judges and take professional headshots.

Following the Round 1 Showcase, five teams advanced to the Finals, where they are refining their strategies and preparing formal presentations to share with the public. The Capstone Cup Finals will feature the following students:
