Presentation Title: Inside the AHA's Research Enterprise: Grant Funding and Other Opportunities
Presentation Abstract:
The American Heart Association funds a wide variety of research to support our mission to be a relentless force for a world of longer, healthier lives. AHA funds researchers at all career stages through US Institutions. The program offerings include individual awards, shared awards, and network team awards. This presentation will address AHA grant funding opportunities across all career stages, application tips and timelines, career development opportunities, and recent program highlights.
About the speaker:
Belinda Orland is a National Senior Director of Research and Grants Administration at the American Heart Association. She has been with the AHA for 22 years. Her responsibilities include stewardship of more than $180 million in new commitments to biomedical research awards each year. AHA is the largest non-profit funder of cardiovascular and brain health research outside the federal government and currently has over 2K active awards totaling $488 million.
