Award-winning author Aimee Nezhukumatathil will visit the University of Nebraska Omaha on September 23. The event is free and open to the public. Sponsored by UNO's English Department and Creative Nonfiction Program.
Aimee Nezhukumatathil is the award-winning author of the New York Times best-selling illustrated collection of nature essays, World of Wonders: In Praise of Fireflies, Whale Sharks, & Other Astonishments, and a new illustrated personal essay collection, Bite by Bite: Nourishments and Jamborees, which celebrates how food can be a locus for care, grief, desire, nostalgia, and identity. She is the author of four previous poetry collections, and her work has appeared in the Best American Poetry series, The New York Times Magazine, ESPN, American Poetry Review, and The Paris Review. A recipient of NEA and Guggenheim Fellowships, she is a professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Mississippi.
