Exciting times lie ahead as the University of Nebraska (UNO) launches the Weitz Innovation and Excellence Fund, a groundbreaking initiative designed to ignite innovation and foster creativity throughout UNO. The Weitz Innovation and Excellence Fund offers a platform for all faculty and staff members to submit their ideas through NuRamp.

Town Hall Sessions | April 29 and May 13

In our commitment to transparency and accessibility, Academic Affairs will be hosting two Town Hall sessions. This will provide an opportunity for the UNO community to engage in dialogue concerning the purpose of the funding and the submission requirements.

We invite you to join us on either:

  • Monday, April 29, from 9 to 10 A.M. in 302 MBSC 302 OR
  • Monday, May 13, from 3 to 4 P.M. in 117 Mammel Hall

Evaluation and Submission Process

Under the guidance of Chancellor Li and Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs He, a dedicated campus advisory committee will evaluate each proposal, considering its alignment with strategic priorities, potential interdisciplinary collaborations, addressing crucial needs, and the likelihood of success.

For the upcoming 2025 proposal cycle, the strategic priorities revolve around three core pillars of the UNO mission:

  • Educating All Learners
  • Community Engagement, Development, and Partnerships
  • Workforce and Economic Development

The inaugural round of funding calls for proposals to be submitted by September 1, 2024. Detailed information regarding the proposal process and timelines can be found on our Academic Affairs Initiatives website.
