UNO faculty, P-12 educators, and after-school program facilitators are invited to this in-person, 4.5 day professional development seminar, focused on connecting classroom learning with community engagement.

What is service learning?

• A teaching approach that links academic learning with meaningful community service in order to:
• Apply curriculum in real-world settings
• Align learning outcomes with community needs
• Build communication, leadership, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills through asset-based engagement

Seminar Highlights

• Breakfast and lunch provided daily
• Site visits to local community organizations
• Interactive, hands-on learning
• Leave with a ready-to-implement service learning project

Participants receive a $400 stipend or professional development fund.
