Join us for 7 Days of Service the week of Spring Break! We will have opportunities to explore the Omaha Community with a History Walk of downtown, volunteering with non-profit organizations, and a community dialogue at the Samuel Bak Museum. Lunch and transportation will be provided.  

 

Complete the Volunteer Registration Form by March 12th.

 

 

Tentative Schedule  

 

Wednesday, March 13 - Time : See Below (Participants will be assigned a Tour) - Location : CEC/Downtown Omaha 

HistoryWalks Downtown Tour 1 ( Max 15 participants) 

  • Check In and Lunch at the Community Engagement Center 12pm – 1pm 

  • Leave for the Tour 1pm  

  • HistoryWalks “Secret Omaha Tour of downtown Omaha ( Tour 1 start : 1:30pm) 

  • Return to the CEC 3pm 

HistoryWalks Downtown Tour 2 ( Max 15 participants) 

  • Check In and Lunch at the Community Engagement Center 2pm – 3pm 

  • Leave for the Tour 3pm 

  • HistoryWalks “Secret Omaha Tour of downtown Omaha ( Tour 2 start : 3:45pm) 

  • Return to the CEC 5pm 

 

Thursday. March 14 – Time: 11:00am to 2pm – Location : CEC/Non Profit Sites 

Volunteering at Non Profit Organizations ( Conservation Fusion, Emerging Ladies Academy, Black Police Officers Association, League of Women Voters Greater Omaha, and others)

  • Check In and Lunch at the Community Engagement Center 11am – 11:45am 

  • Leave for Non Profit Sites 11:45am 

  • Volunteer at Community Sites 12pm – 2pm 

  • Return to the CEC 2pm 

 

Friday, March 15 – Time: 11:30am to 2:30pm – Location: CEC/Samuel Bak Museum 

Community Dialogue at the Samuel Bak Museum 

  • Check in at the Community Engagement Center 11:30am 

  • Travel to the Samuel Bak Museum 11:45am 

  • Lunch 12pm – 1pm 

  • Bak Museum Tour 1pm – 1:30pm 

  • Community Small Group Discussion on the “Justice of Genocide” 1:30pm – 2:30pm 

  • Return to CEC 2:30pm
